Interview with Partnerpedia’s Liam Lahey and change!
Have you heard of Partnerpedia? If you haven’t then you really need to make your way over to their website at partnerpedia.com and check out what they are up to over there.
I first met up with Partnerpedia at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Denver a few years ago. Since that time I have learned the important role Partnerpedia plays in our technology community and the overall value of their organization.
What makes Partnerpedia unique is the community they have brought together. The Partnerpedia community brings together other MSPs plus ISVs, Dynamic Partners, Hardware vendors, IT Pros with different disciplines and many more truly unique and valuable tech firms.
Partnerpedia is not just another online community for technology professionals. Give it a go, membership comes at no cost.
Recently Liam Lahey (a good buddy of mine) and I caught up for a 5 minute discussion about the state of the industry. During this short interview, Liam and I discussed the recent CompTIA Breakaway event, the future of the MSP business, clouds and niche markets and even my “not so public” upcoming book that I am working on (when I have the time).
Change is in the air
There is no doubt change is coming in the MSP business or for some it is already here. I love what Arlin Sorensen had to say about change in his most recent post on his Peer Power blog.
Change happens. It always has, and it always will. The speed of change continues to increase so that means we have a few choices to make:
- Resist it, fight it, refuse to take part
- Grumble about it, drag our feet, grudgingly move toward it
- Embrace it, support it, lead others through it
I am convinced we are in the perfect storm – opportunity is all around us. Change is all around us in the tech world (listen to Bloomberg, CNBC and read WSJ) and no doubt change will continue to happen long after many of us hang up our screwdrivers for a nine iron.
What are you going to do…resist, grumble or embrace? You have a choice, choose wisely.
